JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN/ DISTANCE LEARNING SUPPORT
Our Jr. Kindergarten/ Distance Learning Support program is for children aged 4.9 Year old to 6 years old. This class is geared for our more matured four and five year old's, who may be old enough for transitional kindergarten or kindergarten but are needing another year of preschool. This is also a blended class for those enrolled in a district TK/Kindergarten program who need support with their distance learning. This class has a ratio of twelve children to one teacher with a maximum of twelve children and one teacher. Our Jr. K program focuses on providing a fun loving classroom learning environment with a big focus on preparing them entry into Kindergarten/First Grade. Our emergent curriculum is designed to meet each child's individual needs. The emergent curriculum also explores all developmental areas such as STEM learning, fine and gross motor skills, art and music, with writing letters, phonics, sight word introduction, complex shapes, colors and numbers up to 100.We use the Zoo-Phonics program and Hand Writing Without Tears program to help encourage fine motor skills and language skills. Jr. K's share the large playground with both the Preschoolers and PreK to help encourage sharing, exploration and develop gross motor skills.
Those that are enrolled in a district program will receive support with their learning. Children enrolled in the distance learning support program will bring their tablet/chrome book to class and have supervised online instruction. After and in between online instruction they will have the opportunity to socialize. We also provide a well balanced curriculum that includes hand's on science, problem solving, art and crafts.
